O.K. all of you T-ball/softball/baseball moms......?
...how do YOU get the orange dirt out in the laundry?!
Really, step by step instructions would be appreciated. That orange clay/dirt they play ball on really stains. They all have a couple of pairs of orange (use to be white) socks. We do not use bleach due to skin sensitivity issues. I have had other moms say oxy-clean products or certain detergents, but I have tried them all, and our socks and shorts/pants are still orange. Please be specific with your instructions, like what product you use, how long you soak, temperature of water, etc. Thanks!
When I've had to do this in the past, I've used dish washing liquid believe it or not. Bleach was unacceptable because it would ruin the color, but it worked okay on socks. So start the washing machine and let it fill with water. Add about a quarter cup of dish washing liquid and let it soak for about an hour. Then let it run its normal cycle.
It's not perfect, but it has worked for me. I usually use the generic brand liquid, but a name brand should work just as well. Good luck!!
