why cant teenage boys wear khakis?
obviously they physically are able to, but it seems that unless they are forced to its completely unheard of to wear anything other than jeans or sports shorts outside of the house. jeans aren't very comfortable. some people dont like shorts. but if you wear khaki pants, you are in for major judging by other kids. this isint necessarily just khakis, any kind of more formal pants.
obviously it looks dorky/gay/too formal/whatever you want to call it. i'm wondering why.
and i'm not self conscious just curious.

It really depends on what kind of "khakis" you wear. There a khaki material cargo shorts or pants which look more relaxed. A lot of skater kids wear them.
I think looking too formal is shunned by teenage culture because it is associated with people who are uptight, conservative, boring, uppity, nerdy, etc....
Most people don't want to portray that sort of image, especially when they are young.
