How to wash black and white clothes?

I have a fleece hoodie top with a white zip & a mixed fabric (mostly cotton) sweat shirt which is black and has some white elements around the arms.
I also had a white sports bra with black straps.
I washed all of these clothes as recommended on the labels on a 30 degree wash (the white bra with only whites) and they all ended up being black and gray instead of black and white after the first wash.
How can I prevent that in the future?
They were all good quality clothes and not cheap!
What do you mean: wash separately: remove the zip out of my top and wash it separately..?!!
I tried hand washing with no different effect!

Was the black sweat shirt new? New ones sometimes bleed a little dye in the first wash and the rest of the wash would pick it up. I first would put each garment separately into a bowl of hot water and leave it for about 10 mins. You may find that one of them bleeds colour into the water - if so you have found the culprit -in future always wash it separately or only with dark colours. If you washed the black and white bra following the instructions with whites only and the black colour ran I should take it back to the shop.
I don't hold out a lot of hope for getting the white good again - you might be able to find a product called Dygon that was designed to remove colour that got on accidentally, but I haven't seen any for a long time.
