Sneakers that are good on the knees and casual/athletic?
i'm getting new sneakers this weekend. my budget is $40. All the sneakers i have right now are old, dirty, and dont have the tred and the support anymore so my knees have been hurting worse. A few years ago, i had a bad ankle injury(im not even sure what) but i never got it treated so now i have knee and ankle problems. they do random stuff like hurt, burn, give out, lock, really anything u can think of. So i need some good support sneakers.
I'm also very athletic. I'm always walking, running, biking, playing with my family, friends, im just really active. i play specific sports which i have good sneakers for but i need sneakers that can handle and support me when im just always doing something.
i have running shoes but they werent very comfortable unless i was running.
Anything else u want to know to give me good advice on what to buy, ask me and ill post in additional details.

It is good you are linking shoes to your pain. However, your budget is extremely low for anything highly effective (unless you find a closeout sale on a pair specifically designed for your gait.)
At any rate,..
Given your budget, I think you will have the most luck finding some cheaper New Balance shoes. This will likely be your best bet in best comfort / performance at close to the $40 mark.. I know of no other brand that has some cheaper models that compares to the performance regularly.
Tell the salesman your need for the shoe, and your budget.. just be honest. Ask if there is anything that might be marked down considerably, etc.
If you can afford a bit more for a more personalized shoe for your specific problem.
Go to a runners shoe store. These can be large, but are generally smaller privately owned stores. Not the big box footlocker types.
Call around if you need to. You want to find one that the salesman is trained to analyze your gait (how you walk). Often they can watch you walk for a minute and then pick out a few pair that match your over-pronation, supination, or other gait malfunction. If you have high arches there is support for it, low arches, or no arches.. the same.. and so on.
You then try them all on and the best fit to you, is generally the winning pair.
Often this runs upwards of $100, not because of any extra fee for fitting you into a PROPER pair of shoes that will eliminate much pain, but because shoes are expensive, relatively,.. things don't cost what they used to. You generally get what you pay for as well.
So best case you spend more money at the right place where they can analyze your gait... and end up with much better protection and pain reduction. Or, you are fixed with your budget and you need to look around for some lower end New Balance, or even previous year models that are significantly marked down.
