i've been stretching my ears for over 2 years and i just stretched to 3/4 of a inch, the one healed fine but the other is red and crusts over and hurts, the bottom is like raw. when i clean it tiny blood specks and a clear discharge comes out. ive been soaking in sea salt, cleaning them daily with anti bac soap and using vitamin e on them. i know i stretched the ear that is angry too fast but from what i read on blow outs it doesnt sound like one, there was no skin pushed out or "flap of skin" its just red and irratated. its not infected, there is no signs of infection other than it being red, if i absolutely have to i will take out my 3/4 plug of it and go back to 5/8 but i don't want to if i don't have to. its the 4th day since i stretched it and it is getting bettter i've been keeping up with the cleanings and it doesn't hurt constantly now. its very sensative around the bottom and sore. please tell me what this is if it is a blow out and what else i should do thanks.
Sounds more like you might have torn it than blown it out. I know you don't want to, but you really need to downsize back to 5/8. Give it 6-8 weeks to heal and baby it twice a day with sea salt soaks. Once it's had time to heal, you can try the stretch again. You might want to try a new method of stretching. Are you still using tapers to stretch? If so, it's time you switched to the tape wrapping method. Once you start moving into the larger sizes, the measurement gap between them starts to get larger. Tapers usually take that jump too quickly and piss your ears off. Tape wrapping takes more time, but it's much gentler on your ears and you're less likely to cause tears or blowouts. Simply wrap layers of PTFE/Teflon tape around your plugs. Add a new layer every week or two and you'll be up to the next size in no time.
