I have an expensive pair of Gucci sunglasses, made in Italy. I bought them for around $200.
As when I wear them, they become dirty with make up, and oils from my skin. So I wash them with soap and water. Just normal dishwashing soap. Now I have noticed that from under the rim, where the lenses meet the frame, some strange substance gets on the lenses, like a flaky and sticky something. I noticed that after washing it, it comes from under the frames and when dry it won't go away. it seems to be some sort of glue, maybe used to keep the lenses tight in the frame? Not even by washing them again, or wiping with a soft cloth can I get it cleaned.
Has someone experienced this? Are the lenses ruined, would an optical store be able to restore them again? I would hate to loose these very expensive glasses. I never had this with any other glasses. I always washed all of my glasses with dishwashing soap.

I suggest you go to some optical center and ask them if they can fix it for you or replace the frame. And yeahh NEVER wash your glasses or any expensive sunglasses with dishwashing soap, hence the name dishwashing. You can buy cleaning kits for specific brand sunglasses. I have D&G's and so i bought the D&G cleaning kit with it which was only $10.So go to the store see if they can fix it and then go buy the Gucci Sunglass Cleaning Kit
