I'm thinking about buying a used Super Reverb Reissue. I know that the vintage ones break up really nicely but I'm not sure about the reissue ones, so could anyone tell me a bit more about this amp. Will it be good for recording ? is it overall a good deal ? ( I live in Finland so everything is a lot more expensive here ) I would pay 800 euros. Another thing, How does this amp take pedals ? ( I'm talking about overdrives and fuzzes )

In case you do not get a better answer, I will give you what information I can. I don't play a Super Reverb RI. I have a 69 Dual Showman Reverb. That is the same circuitry family. The Super Reverb, the Twin Reverb, the Showman and the Dual Showman. Given the electronics are pretty much the same, the Super Reverb RI should respond about like my Dual Showman Reverb.
They do break up nicely, But they are loud. You have to crank it to get to the break up point. I use a distortion pedal and a fuzz with mine. I have not used an overdrive pedal. With the overdrive, the distortion increases with the volume. At low volume there is little to no distortion. That is why I have not used one with this amp. I can get the distortion I want at lower volume with the distortion pedal.
The Super Reverb does have much different speakers, so that will factor in. Not sure just how much difference there is with my 2x15 cab, but I am guessing quite a bit.
Hopefully, someone will answer with actual experience on the Super Reverb RI.
