Hawaii Preparatory Academy???

Anyone out there have any children attending Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Kamuela Hawaii? Or do you know anyone that has attended? Was the education your children received worth the tuition? Did they move on to high-achieving Universities? I have 3 children that will be attending next Fall...One will be a senior, one a Freshman and one an 8th grader. Any information you can give would be appreciated.

The problem is that the school choices on the Big Island are quite limited, and if you are talking about the North side of the island, there is even less to choose from. For example, on Oahu, there are a number of well known, very obviously prestigious private schools and hence more choices. You almost have to rely on word of mouth for schools like HPA, and perhaps anywhere else on the Big Island. I have heard that HPA is excellent, and that it is among the best schools in the State, although I doubt it would rank as high as Punahou, Iolani, or Hawaii Baptist on Oahu.

Obviously, you are an interested parent who will be watching your children's eductations closely, and I think more than anything, that will be the greater influence on your children's success and matriculation to a good college.

FYI, I have been considering a move of my family from Oahu to Kamuela as well, so I have been pondering the same types of questions, although not as in depth as you, because frankly, there are no other credible choices there.
