I've noticed that many of the designs I've seen in the States is the same (yet watered down) of what I saw in Tokyo years ago. Is the US finally catching on to Tokyo fashion? Can anyone give me cool articles it would be really appreciated.
It's funny cause Japan used to emulate Western Culture for the longest time. When I went to japan (I was only 5 and it was like 20 years ago!), everyone was really into the greaser/rockabilly look. My theory about it is that they are so petite that ANYTHING looks great on them. My cousin (from Japan) came to the US to visit and we went shopping and she would just throw stuff on top of what she was wearing or grab stuff to be pieced together and it would always look amazing.
I think the good thing about fashion is that it is one, ever-changing, and two always influenced by other cultures so I think we can really look forward to a more melting pot of european and asian influence with upcoming trends.
