Hiking shoe help!?
I am getting ready to go to Belize (humid and hot) to do construction work, and I decided on buying some hiking shoes instead of construction boots so i could get more use out of them in the long run...here is my question!
Would it be better to buy the shoe that fits my foot perfectly, where the big toe is practically touching the end of the shoe - or to go a half size higher where there will be more room. I don't plan on wearing extrememly thick socks since we will be near the jungle, and I haven't bought shoes like them before....I would also like to avoid blisters! The brand is Merrell by the way! Any answers would really help since they are so expensive and I don't know how hiking shoes really work in the long run haha
if your doing hardcore construction, skip the hiking boots and get construction boots WITH a steel toe... trust me, youll be glad you did.
if your dead set on the hiking boots, get ones that fit your foot in either a summer or winter sock, and seeing as its hot and humid youd prob be getting the summer hiking boots right? get the ones that have air vents, and light summer socks, try them on before purchasing.
