What do guys and girls wear underneath a speed skating skin suit?
do guys wear underwear underneath a skin suit? do girls? do you wear anything? do yu wear a t'shirt, a tank top, a thong???
i just joined a speed skating team...i just got a skin suit???
I'm in my 4th year speed skating.
I wear Underwear, running tights and a long sleeved Under Armour shirt under my suit. My suit IS quite thin, but I find that's a good amount for training.
If it's too hot, use a short sleeved shirt, and too hot still, lose the shirt completely. If you're in a competition, You can go with underwear only.
Going commando is slightly unsanitary, and means washing your suit quite often. One of the reasons I wear stuff underneath, is because then it gets sweaty, not the suit. I wash the under-armour and the running tights and my gear is clean.
For short track, basically the same thing, just including the mandatory equipment: Gloves, Neck Guard, Helmet, Knee Pads, Shin Guards -- Or Built-In Pads. I rarely wash my other gear; i'm not the stinky type.
To sum it up:
Wear stuff underneath for training, it keeps your suit smelling semi-fresh. For races, go underwear only.
