I live in Canada, and we have cold weather almost 6 months out of the year. I know that some stores are trying to get rid of winter stock, and bring in Spring/Spummer clothes now. Would it be cheaper if I buy a winter jacket now for next winter, or should I wait until winter comes around?
I don't care if the style will be "last year", I just want something that can keep me warm.

I used to work in a large retail clothing store & found the best times to get a good deal on coats is toward the beginning or end of the coat season. I live in the southern US, so it may be different for Canada, but by April the coats here are already sold out. There are usually specials, like 25% or 35% off, run when coats first appear in late summer. In January or February, you can find great price mark-downs, sometimes up to 50% or even 75% off, but the styles & sizes become more limited as the discounts deepen. Another thought, if you aren't turned off by wearing something used - I found a great deal on coats at a Junior League bargain store when shopping late spring last year - I bought 4 terrific, in-style, barely worn, nice brands of coats (like L.L. Bean) for under $25.00 for all!
