Why are betas are meant to breed to fight and to the death? Why is my cat afraid of my beta?

I read on this websites that betas are breed to fight and will fight to the death but why? My cat and my beta always have this staring contest but it always freaks my cat out and when my beta wins he usually becomes a showoff and my cat does not want to get near another beta. It is sort of weird and funny. Pretty much entertaining for me. Show time ever single day. Why is she? What can I do to make her not be afraid of betas?

i'm not sure why your cat is scared of the betta but you can ask that question in the cat section and you might get better answers toward that question.but hey it's a good thing that it is scared of it.that way it won't try to eat it.
about the bettas,.
they are bred to fight.because a betta wants to take over the tank or be like the ruler so if there is more fish in his tank he will fight them do death.that is because.
one;they are carnivores
two;they want to be the rulers of the tank
three;they are showoffs and they want to attract the females by killing other fish which means that they are powerful or Strong
that's mostly why they fight.
