I agree with the previous poster's advice to talk to your local Fire Chief. Several large cities have their own vigorous schooling programs.

You may need to make a decision as to whether you would rather play ball or get a degree/certification that will be beneficial to your career. You may have a better chance of playing ball at a smaller college.

Ever think about being a fireman in the Navy, Coast Guard or the Air Force?
(The Coast Guard appears to have a higher percentage of firemen than the other branches of the armed forces.)

If you want to get a 4 year degree, I would suggest that you major in Forensic Science and pick up a Fire Fighter's Certificate along the way. That would give you qualifications to advance into the "Arson Investigations" squad.
