Purple Leather
What color walls will match purple leather chairs?
My husband and I have planned on painting our dining room red for quite some time. Now we are finally getting ready to move in to our house and are actually starting to look at furniture. We found leather chairs that we love but they are plum colored. The table we are looking at is really dark (almost looks black if the light isn't shining on it). I personally would not go with red.
I think with red walls, a very dark table and deep colored chairs, it would all blend together too much and you would not be able to fully appreciate the furniture.
The color you paint your dining room should coordinate in some way with the rest of the living space in your home.
Try to find a color that is in your living room and/or kitchen that you can use in the dining room that ties the rooms together and goes well with the dark table and plum chairs.
A few colors that would look nice with plum would be a pale yellow, pale to medium yellow/green, light green or anything in the deep beige family.
Then with any of these colors on the walls, you can bring in accent pieces that contain plums and reds.
