film for vintage camera?
i just got a 1950's argus c-four. It takes I guess any film, but what would you recommend so that i get the best quality out of it? I am interested in black and white. Are there special types of films that produce vintage looking pictures for old cameras available at any drug stores? thanks
Your Argus C-Four takes 35mm film.
You'll probably have a problem finding B&W film in just any drug store but it should be available on-line and most photo stores. Personally I'd recommend Ilford films, particularly the Delta 100 for the vintage look as it tends to be softer and smoother in tone.

EDIT - Contrast doesn't just depend on the film but mainly the way it's processed. I personally find my local lab does a better job with Delta than it does with FP4 but you don't have to take our word for which is better, try both then make up your own mind which you prefer.
