Is it possible for people with ocd to come up with false beliefs to justify there obsessions?
My false beliefs are driven by my OCD. Such as if I have an obsession that I would become stupid if I touched this item. I have to find a way that this item would make me stupid. I qeustion them at first but then they sort of go into my belief system. How do I stop this.
I believe that you may be obsessing about your perceived lack of control of your own destiny.
You may believe that uncontrollable outside forces are defining your life's path, rather than your own inner self defining your direction..
You can choose to realize that by being aware of this thought process, you can relegate these thoughts to the background of your consciousness, and thus not be controlled of obsessed by them.
