Here's an example of why my thinking changed about the question of Judas Priest and their guitarist. Originally I stopped listening to Sabbath when Ozzy was fired. No Ozzy meant no Sabbath to me. I later came to find out how much I missed out on some pretty good albums post Ozzy.
I've listened to Sabbath with Ian Guillian, Rob Halford, Tony Martin, Glenn Hughes and Ronnie James Dio as lead singer. I'm still partial to the first six albums with Ozzy and think they're the best but still, Iommi did a great job on carrying the name. Up until he had to stop using that name from a court case by Ozzy.
Ozzy as a solo artist has also put out some really great stuff, much better than the Sabbath without him. And unfortunately I missed out on that music for a long time because I was so stuck in my head about the perfect formula which eventually got dried up and went off the rails. The last album Sabbath did with Ozzy was pretty bad and they needed to have a change.
