Is it easier to see through Ray Ban Sunglasses when they are Polarized?
I am 15 years old, I have just purchased the Ray Ban 3025 Polarized Gold green frame. As a sub question, is the Polarized worth it, (I can always return the polarized and get the non polarized). I know that Polarized cut down on glare, but should a 15 year old have them? I hear they are for Fishermen, people who ski etc.
Anyways back to the original question. I read somewhere, that Polarized lenses can be seen through, I also read that when people try them on inside, they can see there own eyes in a mirror. However, once outside are their eyes see-able or not?
Something else I read was that Polarized lenses cause Vertigo, is this true? So am I making the right move or the wrong move here? Should I return the Polarized and get the normal ones.
Thank you everyone who commits to this answer.
P.S The only thing I know for sure is that Polarized lenses make viewing LCD's impossible.
keep the polarized lenses they are great. they keep eye strain down and no they don't cause vertigo. as for LCD's being impossible to see that is wrong. polarized lenses have "lines" that run from top to bottom and if you look at an LCD screen straight on you see it fine but if you turn the glasses 90 degrees the image on the screen will turn to black. one way of telling if you have polaroids or not is to look at the display on someone's watch then turn the watch. if it the display gets dark then they are polaroids.here is an article about how they work.
i do spend a lot of time outdoors and very true they are a great tool for fishing because they allow me to see into water that normal lenses will not. i also ski and golf and dozens of different activities and through the years i have found them far better to see with and after and long day and the drive home my eyes are far more comfortable than with regular ones.
