Vintage hair......Rag rollers?
Has anyone had experience with rag rollers? I am thinking about getting a set to try and attemp to give myself a 1940's style hair do. My hair is below the shoulder and quite thick so i was wondering if they are any good. I am not attempting to get tight ringlets but more of a vintage hollywood look like Rita Hayworth / Gwen Stefani style hair.....many thanks everyone xx

Tear some cotton sheeting or shirting into strips about half an inch wide, and about 4+ inches longer than your hair.
Start winding your hair lengthwise at around the middle of the rag (the loose end is lying over your head and face.
When you have wound the hair all the way, pull the loose end back to the curl and wind that around the curled hair to hold it in place.
Tie a knot at the bottom.
I used to do mine before going to bed and just unwrap the long curls in the morning. Yes! That was back in the early 1940's! When it is first unwrapped it will be ringlets - take a brush and just brush out gently but firmly.
