Moms do you have trouble with your seat belts in the car locking up?
It almost never fails that the seat belts in both of our cars lock up on me when I'm trying to wrap them around the car seat. I don't get why!! We have newer cars, and this is such an issue. I almost dread taking the baby out for car rides cause I'm always battling the damn seat belts. Any one else have trouble with this?
It's funny (not really, but funny) that the locking is supposed to be a safety feature, yet becomes a pain to deal with sometimes.
They're supposed to lock when they are pulled out all of the way. That way, when they retract to the right fit, they can't be loosened again with out undoing the clip. This helps stabilize your car seat... (which is good, right?...) and works well with little kids who might wiggle around.
If you don't want it to lock up on you, make sure you don't pull it out all of the way. It'll take some practice to know how much is just right before all of the way, but you'll get it. If it does lock up, let it retract all the way back in and try it again.
For what it's worth, this is a *feature* for most newer cars.
