wouldnt a siberian white tiger have more of an advatage becouse of there with fur?
think about it they could hid better in the snow then the normal coloerd tiger.. i know the withe tiger aint a subspeices.
but wouldnt they do better for camoflaouge to hunt for food?
Evolution would tend to suggest that they wouldn't do better when hunting for food, otherwise the mutation which white siberian tigers posess would be passed down more often than the normal yellow tiger gene.
Maybe their main prey species can't distinguish between yellow-orange and white, they may not have the same colour vision we have. Also at certain times of the year, some of which might be critical for a tigress raising her cubs, the ground might not be frozen, and white would therefore be a serious disadvantage when hunting -- much more so than having a more in between shade like yellow.
The fact that in the wild, siberian tigers (the unfortunately small number that are left) are yellow probably means they are the best suited to that environment overall.
